The brilliant Sean Penn. The scene around this outtake is both hilarious and foretelling, and the movie is a moment of magic, combining humor and despair. I love Woody Allen's humor, but even more I love his dark tragic side. For a treat, I think I'll watch Sweet and Lowdown again, later today.

This is one of those films by Woody Allen that have never been dubbed into German and can now only be found second-hand on e-bay. It's also difficult to get all his other films on dvd. At least I have ALMOST all of them. But "Coup de Chance" I will have to watch in French, goodness gracious, and I can only do that when the dvd is released because the film wasn't shown in swiss cinemas. How can it be that there are complete editions of Ingmar Bergman or James Bond, but not of Woody Allen!
